Westcott Indoor Archery 2011

I’ve had a long weekend of archery related thingys!

Prior to this I had just set a new PB for an indoor Portsmouth round (493 barebow), so despite not being an indoor archer, I’m still doing ok :) One day I’ll hit that magical 500…

Anyway, on Saturday I took part in Westcott’s Indoor 3D shoot (my fourth year of attending!). See video below from last year:

There are 9 sessions in total spread out over two weekends and you are allowed to take part in two. Myself, Owen Blackmore, Mike & Gill Winter, Pete Bullock and Jo Sullivan booked ourselves into the morning and evening session – I decided to shoot barebow in the morning and AFB in the evening (just for a laff like). This shoot marks the anniversary of me shooting my beautiful Andy Soars bow too – had to shoot it!

I shot really well in the morning and scored a brilliant 224 – only 30 points behind Owen with his sight! This session marked a SWAC ladies BB strike with myself taking the gold, Jo winning silver and Gill achieving the bronze :) GO TEAM SWAC!!!

Cracking 11 point pro-kill!

The evening session took a while to settle – I struggled with the AFB for the first half of the session as my body was in tune with my BB I shot in the morning. However I sorted myself out and shot better in the second half and was leading that category overnight. Unsurprisingly the lovely Bella pipped me to the post and beat me by 5 points! Never mind, bronze last year, silver this year – hopefully gold next year!
